Couples and families should find no problems in arranging accomodation but it is always best to book way in advance to get the best spots.

You can easily pay in excess of £1,000 per week in season for a rental house near the beach (if you can find one vacant - and if you haven't booked a minimum of six months ahead you won't find one!), so camping and caravaning are the mere mortals' alternatives. But even these options can be pricey (£400+ per week in August for an average caravan and book by Christmas). If you intend to visit off season (Mid-September to Mid-June) then prices are much more inviting and the weather and surf conditions are often excellent.

For camping or caravanning, Higher Harlyn Holiday Park is centrally located (walk to St. Merryn) and has a bar, bistro, kids' playground and swimming pool. Phone: 01841 520022.

While a lot of the campsites now refuse to take groups of 'youngsters' restricting their spaces to couples or families, there are affordable accomodation options if sought out. The Carnevas campsite, on the way to Porthcothan from Treyarnon, is only a little more expensive but has the range of facilities (and pub) to more than justify it.

The Treyarnon Bay Youth Hostel (phone: 01841 520322) is situated in an awesome position on the headland at Treyarnon and offers Surfing Courses and shortbreaks in conjunction with Harlyn Surf School. It's worth staying there once in your life for the view alone!
