Unite and unite, and let us all unite

For summer is a-comin’ today.

And whither we are going we all will unite

In the merry morning of May.

It’s a bit of a dreary start to this merry morning of May but it should clear up soon enough.
The surf is a dismal foot or occasionally two, the breeze is as light as can be but is still onshore (north westerly) and so not the most enticing. But there is a little wave and it is rideable and it should all improve eventually.
And, here’s an image of this morning, maybe not something that I’ll do every day maybe but people have been asking;

Meanwhile back in Padstow, the May Pole is looking wonderful, the streets are gloriously decorated, the merrymakers are in fine tune and the drum beats are already echoing around the town.
‘OSS ‘OSS!!

Nope, it’s flat around here this morning with an hour or so to go before high tide.
It is glassy and there is a certain attraction to it in the early morning mizzle of a proper Cornish May Day but it is flat.
It might build a little later but that’s not definite, although it could be worth a little look back this afternoon.

Surf Forecast for Friday 2nd May 2014

The wind looks as though it might just swing offshore today.
A light, light easterly or east north easterly breeze is likely to drift our way through most of the day.
And another dreary, mizzly day is likely to be upon us, maybe a little muggy and mild but not that lovely spring stuff that we all like so much.
Otherwise though we should be in for some small but exquisitely clean, fun and gliding surf!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

We should just about hang on to those small swells for the rest of the week, a couple of feet of smoothly lined up, ten second period stuff, lightly slopped by the varying breezes but generally that fun and cruisy kind of surf, the sort of stuff that you often enjoy without realising it.
Friday should show some clean and pleasant, small but fun waves all day with light off shores forecast until late afternoon.
And the weekend is looking interesting with expected offshores to groom the anticipated small but rideable little swells through the weekend.
In fact the weekend is looking like a mainly bright and cheerful one with very pleasant little waves!
Have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
