Constantine (2*):  1 to 2 feet

Ah, that’s better, there’s a little bit of chill sunshine brightening up the day today, the wind still breezing down from up t’north with that stinging little bite to it but also with wide open skies only fringed by a few wandering bundles of cloud.
The surf is small with barely a couple of feet of crumbly but clean enough little peaks springing out of the steely blue sea.
The wind is forecast to stay calm while the surf is likely to stay pretty much the same too! So a sunny day of fun gliding awaits!

And well done to Cam and Dan Wickins and all the boys and girls from Padstow RNLI for organising the first 3 Bays Run-Swim-Paddle event lat night. Loads of people turned up to cheer on the guys as they competed to run from Booby’s to Treyarnon, swim back to Constantine and then paddle surf rescue boards to Booby’s and back. The weather cleared up for them but that north westerly wind must have been difficult to enjoy when moving against it!
A fantastic event, hopefully to be become an annual happening!

Harlyn (0*):  0 to 1 foot

A foot or so of wind chopped, slopped and mushy surf is washing into the bay this morning, of little interest to anyone with a surfboard or even keen on a paddle.
That northerly wind is just making a mess of it all on this much sunnier morning!

Surf Forecast for Friday 11th August 2017

We might just get a bright start to the day before another bundle of rain heads our way today but hopefully not until the evening.
And another day of onshores awaits but with that wind backing to the west and south west through the day. At least the wind blowing from that direction should push the surf up and, if it gets anywhere near big enough, it will have a cleaning effect at Harlyn.
But it probably won’t get big enough.

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

The winds should gradually ease as we go into this weekend, the fresh north westerlies of Saturday morning calming to a breeze by the afternoon and remaining calm as we go through Sunday.
Those breezes are still going to be onshore though, north westerly through Saturday, slipping south westerly through Sunday.
With only localised, residual windswells wandering into the bays, it’s not looking like an exceptional weekend for surf but there should be enough around to tempt us in and will probably end up being quite a bit better than we were hoping for.
The same goes for the weather, it’s not promising too much but it should turn out to be way better than we were expecting!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
