At 7.50 a.m:

Constantine (3*):  5 feet.

It’s a bright and light and cheerful morning this morning, with only a light breeze so far and pumping surf!
Four feet plus of thick and powerful surf is crunching onto the Slab and the Reef just as the tide thinks about dipping to low, the lightest of breezes so far drifting across the faces of those curling waves.
Yep, it’s looking good, a bit meaner than it has been the last few days but no worse for that!

Harlyn (2*):  2 feet and building.

It’s still really small around here so far this morning but then the tide is just a couple of hours off low and so it is probably at its weakest right about now.
But a couple of feet of smooth and glassy faced little waves are cracking onto the sand, a bright sunrise cheering up the whole scene.
Give it a couple of hours and it could be quite good here, give it another couple of hours and it could just be really good!

Surf Forecast for Thursday 26th January 2017

Three to four feet of swell should continue to push ashore against a strengthening south, south easterly wind throughout today.
That side to offshore wind will drop the air temperatures but otherwise we should be enjoying another bright and cheerful day filled to the brim with crashing surf!

Surf Conditions for the Rest of the Week

Brisk winds are going to blow in hard through midweek, veering from the south east (offshore) to the south west (onshore at the main breaks, offshore at Harlyn).
But everything is likely to calm fairly quickly, leaving light and variable breezes to drift about through Friday. A solid and steady four feet or so of swell should continue to push along the coast throughout the back half of the week and well into the weekend, hopefully lighting up Harlyn throughout Saturday and Sunday.
So, Thursday could be a hard blowing, steep barreling, dredging kind of day while Friday resorts to a slovenly slop at places other than Harlyn, while Harlyn vies for surf destination of choice for the weekend!
Have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
