Constantine (0*):  6 to 8 feet

The peak of the storm seems to have passed through overnight leaving a rainbow strewn, blue spaced sky filled with thick and threatening cloud bundles.
That stormy nor’ westerly wind has dropped to a squally bluster, still onshore, still cold and still trashing the outsized surf.
Six to eight feet of wind slapped and drunken surf is lurching its way casually into the bays, all mixed up and messed up like a Friday night gone wrong. Missing that hugeness of midweek but still big enough to pinch you back to the beach.
South Coast again anyone?

Harlyn (0*):  4 to 5 feet

Rainbows are dancing across the sky on the way here this morning, maybe promising something better for later but maybe not until a few days later.
Four to six feet of wintery swell is being bullied and shoved by the still fresh and strong onshore wind, a bitter chill still in that north westerly blow.
No, I think that we might just give it a miss on this stretch of coastline for another day!

Today’s Tide Times:

Surf Forecast for Friday 19th January 2018

I think that we will have lost that punch from the still fresh north westerly wind and the swell will have dropped that much again. It’s likely to be in the four to six feet size range today, still blown out and junk, just smaller and slightly less blown out junk!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

We might just see something a little more (but only a little more!) comfortable this weekend.
The wind should have calmed and switched by Saturday, maybe even slipping offshore on a sunny Saturday morning, if only for a while. But taht should allow the three feet or so of swell to dance merrily in the sunshine and entice us in for a more relaxing surf than we have seen for a while.
Make the most of that because the wind will soon strengthen again but now blowing from a much more useful south westerly direction and so pushing some more milder weather our way while also strengthening the surf and usefully cleaning up Harlyn!
Yep, we can look forward to a fun Harlyn Sunday with three to four feet of happy hollowness to greet us (even if it does turn out to be a bit great and dull and wet and dreary!).
