"Pasty 'n a pint m'dear?"

Beach parties, pubs and eating places are host to most of the fun and frollicking in this area.  Don't expect the boom boom Ibiza allnight niteclubs but do expect excellent music, funny funny parties and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Most of the local Pubs have bands playing at least one night a week in Summer, so, often the decision is where to go.  Mike and Maxine's 'Dog House' in St. Merryn, the Cornish Arms (St. Merryn), the Jolly Roger (Carnevas campsite) or Windy's 'Waves' restaurant at higher Harlyn provide the starting points for most evenings' entertainments.  If you feel like dining out, well you'd really have to work at it to go hungry around here. You can try the Michelin starred 'Ripleys' in the village, Waves at Higher Harlyn, Chris Prynn's Seafood Restaurant, also in St. Merryn, The Cornish Arms do great food and there's always the award winning Fryer Tucks if you fancy some great fish and chips. And they are all in the village! The Golf Club are serving just great food and, a little further afield, the Carnewas Tea Rooms (in the National Trust carpark at Bedruthan steps) do fantastic snacks and lunches. And that's without mentioning the mouth-watering array of restaurants, bars and cafes in nearby Padstow!

The not too distant Eden Project normally have a full and interesting programme of events including a wide mix of music and entertainment. Keep an eye open for their adverts. And if you're a bit over the smaller bands and entertainers in the local bars and pubs then the Hall For Cornwall in Truro often attracts good headlining bands, plays and theatre groups and is only a half hour away. Or if the more boom boom nightlife is what you really want then Newquay offers a mindblowing choice of venues in which you can trance, dance, rave and rock till you drop, drop, drop. But don't write off that tranquil relax on the beach at sunset. It often offers more stimulation than you can handle. And don't be too alarmed to find major club DJs mixing on the sand at midnight or in a marquee across a muddy field, or some holidaying musicmaking megastar strumming an acoustic guitar in the corner of the cafe.  Keep an eye open for any of the regular events put on by the Bullrock Boardriders (the local surf club) as they are always awesome.
