'Seven bays for seven days'

The area surrounding Trevose Head, only a couple of miles from the historic fishing port of Padstow, has been designated as both an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and also an 'Area of Special Scientific Interest', which reflects the diverse and beautiful nature of this region.

The village of St. Merryn welcomes you with the announcement '7 Bays for 7 Days' and, fortunately for surfers, each of the 7 Bays offers a variety of breaks.  Only 20 minutes away from the 'Surf City' of Newquay, the bays surrounding Trevose Head span nearly 250degrees of the compass and offer an entirely different experience.  From the South West facing swell magnet Constantine, to the Nor' North East facing Harlyn Bay, the only truly onshore wind is a North Westerly and then the South Coast is only an hour away!

The most dominant structure of the Constantine Bay area is the Trevose Golf and Country Club which offers a championship 18 hole course and 2 short courses. There are other golf courses and driving ranges within a short distance.

The crossroads at St. Merryn is pretty much central to all the bays and amenities of the area and has shops, post office,a choice of restaurants, a pub, takeaways (award winning fish & chips!)  and a garage.  Don't expect too much in the way of commercialisation, this area is a haven for walkers, golfers, fishermen and of course, surfers who all seem to rub along quite nicely together.

Only a few miles away is the beautiful ancient fishing port of Padstow with its working harbour, seafood restaurants, and all the facilities expected in a larger town. Steeped in history and with its own special culture, Padstow is one of the unspoiled fishing harbours remaining.
The Camel Estuary separates Padstow from the sailing centre of Rock. It also provides an excellent playground for sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing or wakeboarding. The Camel Trail which can be walked or cycled, follows the edge of the estuary, linking Wadebridge to Padstow. The estuary is home to many rare species of wildlife which can be viewed while travelling the trail.

Further affield there are a massive choice of sights to see and experience from the awesome Eden Project (a quarter hour away) and Lost Gardens of Helligan (half hour or so) to the natural, rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.
