That grey canopy is covering us still, a snug and thick blanket of silver, muffling both birdsong and the gentle roar of a four foot swell.
The breeze is but a whisper, a soft touch on the smooth and glass like faces of those bending and looping waves.
It is looking good again!
Three to four feet, all glassy and smooth and peeling and hollow, two out at Booby’s while a fishing boat emerges through that early morning haze in search of his pots full of lobster.
It’s not sunny or venue bright, yet. But it is delightful and full of the promise of another day of great surf!

The swell is still shooting straight past the bay here this morning, leaving barely a foot or so of still sloppy and shapeless wash to slop onto the beach.
No, the other side is the place to aim for again today.
There must be at least one hundred and eighty four other places up and down the coast that will have great surf today but here isn’t one of them!

The surf is likely to be smaller today but still clean, still smooth, still curling and still enough to get stoked on.
We are likely to be gliding those two to three feet waves today, enjoying the brighter and lighter weather, sliding across those long, long waves at MiniMaliBooby’s, or shredding the peak at HTC.
Yes, it is likely to be smaller but should still be great fun!
Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week
It has been as perfect a start to the surfing week in Cornwall as you could ever wish for!
That steady groundswell is rhythmically spinning long swell lines our way, a mid teens wave-period pulse of smooth and solid swell, groomed to precise perfection by a steady but light offshore breeze. The swell is pretty solid and should only very gradually and slowly ease down in size as we go through the whole week.
And yes, it is forecast to be bright and sunny for most of the time too, eventually (it might take time to burn through the haze each day though!)!
As well as all that, it is that time of year in these parts where all hands are on deck preparing for the start of another season, so a lot of people are very busy, getting ready to be busy! So, either it is going to be quiet at our favoured surf breaks or not that much work is going to get done!
With just a little timing there should be plenty of solo sessions available to everyone!
