This overcast and mizzly, sombre old morning is milder than it looks as Bank Holiday Monday happens on a lockdown Friday while we isocelebrate VE Day 75.
Does it get any weirder than this?
But it’s still kind of pleasant down in the bay as a foot or so of wash rolls across the high tide line, begging to be swum in. And with an 11 or 12 deg C water temp., it won’t be long before we’re skipping merrily across the sand to dive in without a care in the world!

A brighter and cheery day is promised with a light easterly breeze and pleasantly sunny skies.

Surf Conditions for the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend

This would have been a classic Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate 75 years of (relative) peace in Europe with bright and sunny and warm days filled with sunshine and light offshore breezes but instead we’ll carry on celebrating another isolation weekend fully immersed in lockdown tranquility.
At least the surf is unlikely to be too teasing with only very small waves expected throughout the weekend being of little interest to most.
Make the most of the fine and warm weather if you can get outside because that is going to change for the start of the week! An Arctic blast of cold, cold air is going to drop temperatures by a good 10 deg C by Monday!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay home, wash your hands and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
