Heavy rain showers are attempting the futile challenge of washing away the ridiculous amounts of dog pooh from the dunes this morning – there’s just too much of it.
Ah well, apart from that a steady sou’ westerly is sweeping across the bay driving those rain squalls across the coast. The surf is a blown out mess, at least releasing us from that temptation, although you just know that there are some places that will have pretty good waves today. Hopefully it won’t be too long now before we can get out and surfari across this beautiful coastline once again!
In the meantime, enjoy the wind and rain and those deep grey skies!

Surf Forecast for May Day 2020

A steady west nor’ westerly wind is likely to keep temperatures lower than they have been while driving rain showers across or around or over any of us wherever we might be.
And it’s going to be so weird with no May Day celebrations in Padstow this year.
Hopefully it will be all the better for it next time.

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

A mixed weekend is approaching, with both rain and sunshine, clear skies and the dullness of grey included in the mix.
Saturday might start out feeling chilly with a steady nor’ westerly clearing the air. But that wind will soon ease to a breeze, the afternoon being much lighter and brighter. Seascape artists might enjoy the opportunity to sketch some rugged seas during their lockdown break even if the waves aren’t that big, the light and bounce on the surf should still be worth a capture. The surfers can rest easy knowing that they ain’t missing much, it’s going to be onshore mush pretty much all the way along the coast today.
Sunday morning however might prove tempting. The breeze is likely to have switched to south easterly first thing, allowing some very pretty little waves to peel their way ashore amongst the gloom and durge of a very overcast morning.
That breeze will soon settle to the south west though making for sloppy conditions at all of our main breaks anyway. It won’t be long now before we can get back in the water to slide a few with friends!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay home, wash your hands and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
