Constantine (1*):  0 to 1 foot

The birdsong is lively this morning as the sky and sea vie for the bluest blue in bluedom this morning. Yes, another fabulous day is brightening the tedium of a slowly easing lockdown, the return of a full lifeguard service to the bay maybe signalling a small step towards some kind normality.
There’s not much surf to welcome the guys back though, a foot or so of inviting and silky smooth little peelers reeling off the shallows but no bigger than waist high max.
And a massive ‘thank you’ to the guys who have kept an unofficial eye on the beaches (unsupported except by their local communities) while the powers that be contemplated. It’s just a shame that there are so many other beaches yet to be guarded.
Stay safe!

Harlyn (0*):  Flat

The colour of the sea at Harlyn is almost indescribable this morning! A variety of shade of the clearest blues are ranging back to the horizon, raw sunshine glinting and shining in the shallows.
It is staggeringly beautiful here this morning but there’s no surf to be ridden, not a ripple.

Forecast for Sunday 31st May 2020

A couple of feet of offshore breeze shaped, peeling surf is expected to be reeling into the bays all day long, that breeze continuing from the south east. More horizon-to-horizon sunshine should keep the sun worshippers happy enough too.

Conditions for the Weekend

These light offshore breezes are set to continue drifting across from the south east throughout this weekend while the sun should continue to shine and temperatures remain pleasant. The surf is likely to drop off completely though with only tiny waves expected through Saturday morning becoming fractionally bigger as we go into Sunday.
Lifeguards will resume their roles at Constantine Bay on Saturday at least helping in the prevention of any unnecessary situations arising.
So it looks as though things are slowly starting to find some sort of normality as pleasant days at the beach beckon.
But bear in mind that most businesses are still closed as too are most toilet facilities. And a level of lockdown is still in place (with the obvious exception of government aides and our elected representatives) meaning that all accommodation remains closed including campsites and holiday rentals.
Stay safe, stay happy and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
