Surf Report for Sunday 30th December 2018

At 8.30 a.m:

Constantine (1*):  3 feet

Another supermild day is being only lightly dampened by some wetness, that light and cozy mizzle just adding a little atmosphere.
The breeze is light and from the west sou’ west, just adding a little bump and slop to the three feet or so of lazy but fun looking surf.
It’s certainly not a ‘day of days’ but could be enjoyable on a lazy Sunday afternoon between festivities!
And on that note, I’m out of here for the next few days, so no surf report until next week!
So have a fabulous New Year, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!

Harlyn (2*):  1 to 2 feet

It’s really quite busy around at Harlyn already this morning!
I guess that we are enjoying the company of a few visitors down for the new Year, which seems to have become more popular over the last few years. And why not, he weather forecast is looking chilly but fine enough for some serious revelry and the kids don’t go back to school for a few days yet!
Anyway, the kids are enjoying the small surf conditions at Harlyn this morning with a foot or two of lightly warped and crumbled but fun looking little waves to play in.
With a late morning neap high tide waiting, conditions should only improve allowing for even more fun for the youngsters and starters. The more experienced might choose the slightly bigger but sloppier surf over on the other side of the headland today!

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  18:07  (2.2m)              High Tide:  11:27  (6.5m)

Surf Forecast for New Year’s Eve 2018

Light, light sou’ westerly breezes shouldn’t effect the three feet and building swells that should be rolling our way this New Year’s Eve. With a mid-teens wave period and a potential doubling in wave height through the afternoon we could be seeing some fine conditions before dark if you can pick the right place at the right time!

Surf Conditions for the New Year Week

This New Year is likely to start out with mild temperatures and light onshore breezes, the swell becoming thicker and bigger on New Year’s Eve, smoothing out as the breeze slowly shifts to offshore through New Year’s Day and then steadying for the rest of the week with light offshores and a small but solid and very surfable little swell being cheered by some bright winter sunshine.
Yep it looks like a very enjoyable week of surf is going to kick 2019 off in style with the air temperature dropping only a little as a High Pressure system settles over us, allowing those offshore breezes to groom those waves into something better.
Wax up the planks and Fish, they could be the playthings of choice this week!
I’m away for a few days so no surf report until midweek next week!
Have a fabulous New Year, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
