Constantine (1*):  4 to 5 feet

A fresh north westerly breeze is dropping the air temperature this morning, it’s reading 6 deg C on the thermometer and feels colder than that.
But the sky is clear and bright, a big, fat moon dropping away from a more cheerful sun than we’ve seen for a while.
And of course the surf is junked out, a sloppy mess of thick and lumpy 5 foot swells.

Harlyn (0*):  3 feet

The breeze is blustering onshore at Harlyn this morning, slopping and chopping the mixed up surf. There are much bigger set waves rumbling through but they are infrequent and a long way apart, the more regular waves being around three feet or so.
But the wind is forecast to back south westerly by lunchtime which is offshore here and so the afternoon tidal push could be full of promise!

Surf Forecast for Saturday 11th January 2020

A hard blowing south westerly wind will be keeping the sky bright while pushing more big surf in as the day goes on.
Harlyn is our best (only) chance of some surf locally but even there it could just get too big for itself on the afternoon tide.
But those wind hollowed and sand dredging barrels should be cavernous and huge!!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

A thumping ‘code black’ swell along with gusting south westerly winds point us toward Harlyn again for this weekend but even Harlyn might just be a little too much on these swells!
We can expect some big and hollow surf all day long at Harlyn through Saturday, the main surf breaks will be swamped by the size of those waves and by the gusting sou’ westerly blow. By Sunday that wind will be more westerly making even Harlyn a bumpy and lumpy affair, all the time the surf being in the ‘very big’ range.
Other coasts might be calling in these conditions, this coast is liable to be maxed out pretty much everywhere, except for those moist sheltered of spots.
And if you think that the surf is big this weekend then hang around till midweek, it’s going to get REALLY big then!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing.
