Constantine (3*): 3 feet
Three feet and bigger of fairly close together but clean surf is rolling into the bay on this beautiful, sunny and clear morning but there looks to be a big old fog bank loitering halfway to the horizon!
That will be shooed away by the light south easterly breeze whispering offshore along with that bright big orange sun to leave nothing but blissful blue skies and pleasant, clean and enjoyable surf.
Enjoy!
Harlyn (0*): 0 to 1 foot
It is absolutely beautiful at Harlyn this morning, bringing a few more people onto the beach to enjoy the bright, bright sunshine and still, calm waters. The sea is fabulously clear and blue and glassy but it is also pretty much flat!
The odd shin to knee high, sheet glass little wave is popping through to tempt and tease but those little wavelets are barely rideable.

Surf Forecast for Saturday 24th August 2019
Another blissful day of clear and warm sunshine awaits with small but beautifully shaped little waves to glide and spin across all day long.
The long boarders should feel blissful today but those short foamboard acrobats should fly too!
Surf Conditions for the August Bank Holiday Weekend
It looks as though we are in for one of those rarest of events – a warm and sunny, surfy Bank Holiday weekend!
The breezes are set light and from the south east, straight offshore at our favourite surf breaks all along the coast and we should be enjoying a fairly decent two to three feet of smooth and even swell as it rhythmically pulses our way.
With temperatures pushing into the mid twenties and the promise of cloudless skies, there’s not much more to say other than don’t forget the sunblock, dig out the warmer water wax, stick a couple of beers in the fridge for later and enjoy!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
Good morning Des,
Shortly after our visit for the Mayday festivities when we chatted in the shop (at closing time) about how I check the surf reports each day even though I live in Sheffield I noticed in one of your reports that you mentioned a couple of soft fun boards that would be good for that day’s gentle conditions. One of them was the Softtech Flash – is this one that you normally stock?
We are coming down to Harlyn on 6th September for a couple of weeks and I have been mulling over crossing over from body boarding to stand up as I’m fed up of watching them catch waves that I can’t. I’m not that good at body boarding but I do enjoy being out in the greenery and when I do catch a good wave then I’m happy.
Would the Flash be a suitable board to start anew?
I’ll call in when we get down.
Hi John,
Good to Hear from you!
Yes a Flash would be a good transition for you, maybe a bigger one to make things easier. But I think that I would try and steer you towards a regular mini-map type of board, something wide, round and buoyant.
But we do carry both in stock most of the time and it would be easier to show the contrast rather than just try and explain.
Hope that helps and look forward to seeing you in September!
Des
Thanks Des, see you soon maybe first thing on Saturday morning when I’m walking the dog and you are taking photos at Harlyn.
