Surf Report for Friday 6th October 2017

At 7.20 a.m:

Constantine (3*):  2 to 3 feet

It’s a bright and beautiful, chilly but gorgeous dawn down in the bay this morning!
The breeze is wafting down from the north, not really effecting the waves like that, certainly not as much as it has been doing for the last how long anyway.
And so the two to three feet of surf might not be squeaky clean but those peeling waves are glinting and glistening beneath the golden light of that big fat harvest moon!
The tide is just dropping off from high and so those waves should start breaking a little harder, the sun looks set to shine all day long and the breeze is forecast to remain just that!
#gosurfnow!

Harlyn (1*):  1 to 2 feet

The breeze that is so benign over on the other side of the headland is strong enough and onshore enough here to lightly slop and chop the couple of feet or so of surf that is washing in.
As always it is a beautiful place to be in the early morning sunshine, especially with that Harvest Moon loitering over there but the surf isn’t all that. A foot or two of windslopped little waves are as much as you can expect here today!

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  12:52  (0.8m)              High Tide:  18:44  (7.7m)

Surf Forecast for Saturday 7th October 2017

Westerly winds are going to be pushing more swell our way all day today. Those waves will probably be starting out in the three feet or so range in the morning, getting into the four to five foot range by lunchtime before dropping off agin into the evening.
Harlyn is probably going to be the place for most to enjoy themselves but timing is likely to be everything today too!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

Gusting westerly winds are going to blow the cobwebs away through Saturday but those winds will also push three to four foot of rolling swell our way too!
If that wind keeps a degree or two of south in it then Harlyn should be sweet with smaller but clean surf rolling through on Saturday morning. You’re going to have to time it right to get the best from it though, that wind will soon settle to the west just adding some chop and bump to it all through Saturday afternoon.
We should be enjoying lighter breezes through Sunday those breezes will quickly shuffling back to the north west, onshore everywhere.
With those breezes calming all the time though, conditions should clean up at all the main surf breaks through Sunday afternoon, the brighter sunshine making it look better too.
And then it looks like south westerly winds will return to start the week, pushing more and more swell our way as the week rolls on!
Yep, it’s starting to look like atypical Autumn week enjoying the smackdown delights on offer at Harlyn Bay!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
