At 6.30 a.m:
Constantine (3*): 3 feet.
It’s a misty, hazy but warm and snuggly kind of start to the day, the promise of brighter for later being felt more than seen!
And the surf is as pretty as a picture!
The tide is too high right now but some beautifully shaped three foot oilled glass peaks are casually curling off the Reef, again promising much better for later. There are big spaces between the sets of waves and a good space between the waves too, indicating a proper, well travelled and promising little swell.
It could be really very good today – in the right place at the right time!
Harlyn (1*): 1 foot.
There are glassy little swell lines pushing a foot or so of crumbly surf onto the high tide shoreline.
There will be a foot or maybe even occasionally two of glassy little waves crashing in here later but the other side is looking so good today that you would have to think that it could be a good idea to term over there.
In fact any of the main surf exposed breaks all along the coast should be enjoying some very pleasant surf today!
Today’s Tide Times:
Low Tide: 13:24 (0.6m) High Tide: 19:18 (7.5m)
Surf Forecast for Tuesday 7th June 2016
A decent three to four feet of swell should be rolling our way and with only very light sea breezes too.
So we should be enjoying maybe three to even four feet of glassy surf today and in some pleasant enough weather too!
Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week
We should be enjoying a very pleasant start to this week again with a small but building swell showing itself on Monday morning, the winds light and offshore to start with, staying light but drifting around for the rest of the week.
So a mid-teens wave period on two to three feet of swell, with very light breezes going onshore occasionally as the sea breeze effect kicks in, mainly through midday each day.
Yep, a heavenly week of not big but fun surf and very pleasant weather is on its way and it should last all week!
Have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!

The scale for measuring conditions:
0-1ft – Unridable/Flat
1-2ft – Kneehigh
3ft – Waisthigh
4-5ft – Chest/Shoulderhigh
6ft – Headhigh
6-8ft = 1-1.5x Overhead
8-10ft = 1.5x Overhead
10-12ft = 2x Overhead
Please Note!
Wave height predictions are based on the larger breaks on both coasts such as Fistral and Croyde for the North, and Praa Sands and Bantham for the South.
Wave height is measured from the front of the wave, and 6ft would usually mean a ‘head-high’ wave.
Try and use some ‘local’ knowledge about what the wave sizes will be elsewhere. For example the Newquay Bay area is generally 1/3 to 3/4 the size of Fistral, increasing the further up the bay you go from Towan to Lusty Glaze, and that it will be clean on a W wind at ‘harbour left’ at Towan at mid-tide’ for example.
Tide times are based on Newquay.
Stay Stoked!
