It is a beautiful morning!
The sky is clear, the sun is bright and the breeze is barely a whisper.
And the surf is good too!
There’s a couple to three feet of clean swell, the shape being improve by a light offshore breeze.
In spite of that though, it’s actually not that great here right now. There’s a big bowl of a sand-emptied beach in the middle of the bay with a big bank for high tide and so there are little peaks at mid tide but they’re either colliding with each other or not quite breaking to begin with!
There are probably three hundred and twenty two other surf breaks that will be breaking better than here right now, some within walking distance, others a worthwhile drive. It should get better here for moments as that massive moon drags the tide in and out a good six metres plus but mid tide isn’t the best with the beach as it is!
But, all that aside, the ingredients are there for a fabulous day at the beach!

The beach is looking wonderful this morning, that early morning sunshine shimmering down the valley, the distant twinkle of a couple of sails drifting across the horizon, the turquoise sea lapping the shore.
There is a little wave occasionally heaving itself into the bay to break off the Rock and it is glassy and clean and smooth but it’s not much bigger than a foot or maybe, very occasionally two. With the other side of the headland enjoying fabulous conditions and the surf being a good couple to three feet over there, then that’s the place to head for today.
Any of the main surf breaks dotted along the coast should be showing great surf conditions today, so just take your pick!

Surf Forecast for Monday 27th September 2015

This beautiful weekend should continue on with more bright and cheery sunshine and light, offshore breezes.
The surf is likely to be only small though, maybe only a foot and it might even go flat for moments when the tide hits those deep bits. But we should find enough little waves peeling in to enjoy a longboard glide or get that Fish bouncing into the air if you’re good enough!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

A high pressure system should be parked above us for this weekend promising calm and settled conditions, while that low pressure system drifts by to the north west, hopefully sending at least a little swell our way.
There is probably going to be only small surf this weekend but it should be smooth and clean and organised little surf and we could be enjoying some sunshine too!
So a foot or two of offshore groomed, clean and shiny surf is likely to be spinning itself across our surf breaks this weekend tempting young and old, experienced and newbies out into that warm atlantic!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
