Constantine (1*):  2 feet

That chill wind continues to busy its way down the coast from the north west this morning, layers of dark and brooding cloud reluctantly giving way to something a bit brighter behind while a foot or maybe two of wind mucked and messed, broken up surf is dribbling into the bay.
It is still mild enough and will soon be bright enough to feel like summer but it’s a slow starter today, give it a couple of hours though and we should be enjoying something brighter and calmer and more relaxing.
The surf is unlikely to improve that much though!

Harlyn (0*):  0 to 1 foot

There’s no surf getting into Harlyn this morning and the sea is chopped and slopped anyway, that cold north westerly fussing and fidgeting as it blusters down the coast.
No, Harlyn is settling down for its summer slumber, only murmuring now and again with the odd short swell until Autumn’s storms arrive!

Surf Forecast for Friday 17th July 2020

The breeze is likely to slip more westerly today, still chopping the small and weak, mixed up windswell but bringing slightly milder (and maybe damper) weather our way too.
Everything should have brightened up by the afternoon but the surf is still likely to be a bit ho-hum for a while yet.

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

Starting out breezy, this weekend should soon quieten down, some low cloud along with plenty of murk and muzzle maybe descending on us through Saturday afternoon and evening.
The surf is unlikely to be a mixed top and messy foot or two again, that bouncy and unpredictable stuff that is not necessarily attractive but allows you to feel a little better afterwards – if you make the effort to get in that is!
Sunday should be a cheerier day with loads of sunshine but that annoying northerly wind. That wind could twitch a little to the north east though, allowing those small waves to clean up and break with at least a little shape, beckoning the longboarders in for a glide.
So, a mixed weekend but at least providing some surf and a little weather too.
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
