Surf Report for Thursday 19th October 2017

At 7.40 a.m:

Constantine (3*):  2 to 3 feet

A half decent couple to three feet of easygoing surf is greeting my return this morning, the offshore breeze is brisk, the air temperature is still (relatively) mild and it’s all looking good!
This afternoon’s pushing tide should add a little oomph to it all but the wind might just swing onshore a little too.

Harlyn (2*):  1 to 2 feet

A foot or two of pleasantly shaped little surf is slapping itself onto the sand here this morning, bigger than expected after seeing the other side but still small.
The other side is the place to surf today!

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  12:16  (1.0m)              High Tide:  18:10  (7.4m)

Surf Forecast for Friday 20th October 2017

A thick and rolling swell is likely to be rolling our way today, driven along by a steady southerly wind. That wind is probably going to be twitching between south south westerly and south south easterly. So we could just be enjoying some meaty and hollow, offshore action through the afternoon, even if the weather turns out to be not all that great!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

Big, big surf and stormy winds are going to blast through again this weekend!
Saturday especially should be filled with huge and pounding surf, coinciding with some big Spring tides too. Add those storm force onshore winds and you have the makings of some big and dangerous conditions, so take it easy even if you’re just storm watching. Those waves should be powerful and will run a long way along the shore with enough power to drag you a long way out of your way if you’re not careful!
Those stormy conditions should ease through Sunday, a fresh westerly wind steadily blowing onshore as the surf halves in size and then halves again.
So to get some clean and surfable, non life threatening waves to surf you will probably have to travel, seeking out those tucked away mist spots that only break in the very biggest of conditions and can handle those storm force winds.
There are a couple of localist spots that should be lighting up but it depends on how strong that wind is and how long it lasts.
Have a great weekend wherever you are and whatever you’re doing but take it easy out there too!
