Constantine (0*):  Flat and offshore

at 6.35 a.m.

Aah, what a difference a day makes.
There’s a steady downpour of rain falling out there this morning, that wet, wet rain, the stuff that gets into you, not just on you. There’s not much wind, just a gentle drift of a breeze from the north east – offshore.
But that is of little consequence to the surf because there isn’t any!
There’s barely a ripple disturbing that infinity pool of a bay this morning and with little hope of any change any time soon, it’s going to be tomorrow or the weekend before we can get those boards gliding again!

So in the meantime it’s a good time to check out those boards and leashes and wetsuits, looking for all those nicks and dents and scratches and gouges.
It might be the time for an upgrade or just a timely repair.
And of course we have all those little bits ‘n bobs that you might need. Those fin screws as well as fins, Black Witch for wetsuit repairs, ding repair kits for your boards, leashes, wax and a Pickle to help get that grimy old wax off!
Or if you’re thinking of a new sled for Summer, we have Channel Island, …Lost, Haydenshapes, Webber, Sol Life, Beach Beat and Hawaiian Soul as well as others! It could just be time for the next step board that you have been promising yourself!
And if you’re feeling a little styleless while you’re there then how a bout a new wardrobe?
Yeah, we have the threads, T’s from Reef, Lost, Captain Fin Co, Brixton, Vans and….. wending their way across the oceans of the world, we have a brand new brand on their way! Hopefully within a few days we will have the finest of the newest of ranges to hit the surf world!
So, we have Ts, we have boardies and walk shorts, we have caps and shoes and flip flops too.
And for the ladies, have you checked out Draw in light? Google it.  All hand printed, hand crafted and original at a lesser price than the fabulous boutiques of the rest of the world!
So, drop in on us this holiday weekend and treat yourself to a little upgrade in your surfing equipment!

No, it’s flat. And with this north easterly breeze, as light as it is, there is a little crumble to the surface of the sea this morning.
It is a cosy, attractive place to be, even in this continuous downpour of rain but you won’t be doing any surfing, not here , not today!

Surf Forecast for Friday 23rd May 2014

The surf is still going to be small today, maybe just a wee bit bigger than Thursday, maybe just about rideable but still tiny, at best.
We should be enjoying those light offshores again and the sky is likely to be a lot brighter but the best that we can really hope for in the way of waves will be some localised swell from those fronts that are bouncing around a bit out there.
But we might just luck into a foot or two of weak stuff for the odd moment or two here or there but nothing much to plan around!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

As the week starts to wind down so to does the surf.
Barely a foot of clean and teasing little, pretty looking waves are likely to be breaking on our shores as we approach the holiday weekend.
The weather forecasts are pretty gloomy but then they have been all week and it has been better than good.
The surf forecasts might just be right though.
We are lucky here in that it rarely goes flat, flat for very long but those little waves might just completely disappear if only for a wee while on Thursday.
It could just look very pretty and enticing even in the rain but it’s going to be tiny at best, pretty much all day long.
We should be able to glide a longboard again by Friday though, with those waves slowly increasing in size into the weekend, maxing out at maybe only a couple of feet by Sunday but a fun couple of feet of pleasantly shaped and very surfable stuff!
So, a gliding surf type of weekend, summer surf gently trickling ashore with light winds and small tides. It’s not going to be great for surf and maybe the weather will be a bit showery and mixed but it should just about end up being brighter and more fun than expected!
Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
