That raging storm of yesterday has eased, a little.
The north westerly wind is still screeching ashore in a cold hurry but not quite showing its earlier anger.
And so the surf is a mess again, six feet or so of wind-ravaged waves bouncing aimlessly ashore, still grey, still moody, still shapeless.
No, it’s another south coast day, if there’s enough swell getting around there to be of interest.

A couple to maybe three feet of wind-junked and weak looking surf is washing into the bay here this morning.
It’s still too messy to surf and it’s feeling cold in the wind again too!

Surf Forecast for Saturday 4th March 2016

Those north westerly winds are expected to continue to blow our way so more choppy and sloppy, junked out surf can be expected today!
Six footish but blown out surf is likely to be rolling in at all of our main surf breaks with about three feet and equally blown out surf at the sheltered spots.
It looks like another day for the south coast, if there’s enough swell getting around there again!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

Another breezy but quite bright weekend is expected, those northerly winds continuing to blow our way.
On Saturday that wind could just back those few degrees to the north east, making for fine and clean conditions at all of our main breaks. If it happens, the surf could just be really very good, four feet and offshore! That is far from definite though and there is as much chance of the wind staying irritably sideshore!
So it’s worth watching the forecasts closely as we go into the weekend.
It looks pretty definite that the wind will stray back to the north west by Sunday though, wrecking the surf conditions on this coast.
Hopefully that wind will ease in strength, so there might be a sloppy little couple to three feet or so of bumpy surf to ride if you’re keen enough!
Otherwise the south coast is our only other option and it might not be very good over there as the swell weakens and eventually disappears entirely.
