A still and hazy dawn is wrapping us in its hazy warmth this morning, a bright and cheery relief from those endless dreary days of the last few weeks!
Today is bright and still and calm and peaceful, the birdsong drifting down to the bay, to meet the silence of the surfless sea.
Yep, the surf is flat today, totally flat. A massive sheen of smooth and shiny flatness.
It looks like an amazing day for a SUP session though!

That smooth flatness of the other side is connecting with here today too!
There’s barely a ripple to be seen in that completely smooth and calm sea.
You won’t be surfing here today, or come to that, anywhere else on this coast!
But it is still a beautiful place to be!

Surf Forecast for Tuesday 8th September 2015

Today could just be one of ‘those’ days!
High pressure is completely in control of our local weather while a low pressure system is marching in from the west, swirling the ocean and blowing up some waves.
And so we should be able to watch the surf build throughout the day, probably not peaking until the evening but it will build!
And all the time these beautifully calm and settled conditions should last,a light offshore blowing to meet that high teens wavelength swell as the day goes on.
Yep, it is likely to start out beautifully and just improve as the day rolls on!

Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week

I hope that you have made the most of the last few days of flatness because that is about to change!
By midweek we should be enjoying an evenly spaced and smooth, long distance swell building throughout Wednesday.
Three to four and then five feet of offshore groomed and immaculate surf is likely to be rolling through under clear and sunny skies.
And that swell should be with us for the rest of the week, that high pressure only reluctantly sloping off to the east.
Yep, a few days of wonderful and cheery surf should be cheering us all up as we enjoy those long waited September sessions!
Have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
