Constantine (0*):  4 to 5 feet

That much-hoped for wind-shift must have happened through the wee small hours as it’s back to onshore already with another brisk north westerly blowing steadily down the coast.
And so it’s another damp and grey, onshore kind of day with about four feet or so of choppy surf bouncing around the bay.
There’s rain in the air and the sky is grey but it’s maybe a degree or two warmer than it has been!

Harlyn (0*):  0 to 1 foot

The wind is steadily blowing onshore here this morning, blowing the tops off the occasional three footers that are lazily wandering onto the sand and making for crumbly and sloppy surf conditions again.
If you’re keen you’d probably find a few fun ones to ride but you are going to have to push yourself into getting in there, it’s not that inviting looking!

Surf Forecast for Sunday 21st January 2018

The swell should be rebuilding through the night and into today, while the wind is forecast to back westerly and (hopefully) eventually settle to the south west by lunchtime.
I’m still hoping for a Harlyn Sunday afternoon full of sand-soaked hollowness and offshore shaped tubes.
But I’ve been wrong before!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

We might just see something a little more (but only a little more!) comfortable this weekend.
The wind should have calmed and switched by Saturday, maybe even slipping offshore, if only for a while and maybe too early. But that should allow the three feet or so of swell to dance merrily in the greynesse and entice us in for a more relaxing surf than we have seen for a while.
Make the most of that because the wind will soon strengthen again but eventually blowing from a much more useful south westerly direction and so pushing some more milder weather our way while also strengthening the surf and usefully cleaning up Harlyn! That might not happen until lat on Saturday or even early Sunday morning but it should happen!
Yep, we can look forward to a fun Harlyn Sunday with three to four feet of happy hollowness to greet us (even if it does turn out to be a bit great and dull and wet and dreary!).
