Constantine (0*):  4 to 6 feet

That was a bit of a noisy storm overnight but it has calmed a little this morning, allowing some gaps between those mountains of clouds, enough anyway to allow us to see that #superbluebloodmoon that I have heard so much about but only seen on a screen until now. And fabulous it is too!
So the wind has eased but not by much, there’s still a freezing cold bluster of a blow wrecking the surf and throwing sand in your face, while busily reshaping the dunes yet again. The weather this winter has been more than a little OCD, fidgeting and fussing around the headland and dunes moving sand to here then there then back again all in a bit too much of a hurry.
And none of us know the result yet, conditions haven’t settled for long enough to allow a decent swell to show.
And it’s the same today. Six or maybe eight feet of wind bullied surf is being pushed and moved around the bay, that still strong north westerly boringly trashing what chance there might have been for a brief chance of something better in the corner.
Ah well, south coast anyone, again?

And it’s that time of the week where I’m thinking of how to attract some business into the shop again this weekend.
Thanks for all of your interest in our pop-up sales over the last few weekends, it has been great to have a little buzz going on during all these storms. And hopefully a whole bunch of you are happy with your bargain buys!

Harlyn (0*):  3 to 4 feet

The wind continues to howl and screech into Harlyn this morning, making a chopped out mess of the three fete and bigger surf.
There’s no real shape to any of those waves that are tumbling onto the the sand, the odd lump trying to tempt but losing interest real quick.
It might be a little more interesting through this afternoon but it is still going to be small and onshore.

Surf Forecast for Friday 2nd February 2018

These North Westerly winds have been loving us this winter and there’s no sign of them leaving us alone just yet.
That same old wind will be chopping and slopping the smaller, three feet or so of weak and short fetch swell as it bounces randomly into the bays.
The weather should be a little brighter for moments but the surf isn’t likely to be all that.

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

Fresh and cold, gusting north westerly winds are going to carry us into this weekend, pushing most of those rain-laden clouds away quite quickly but making a mess of any surf.
Saturday looks like a day of biggish but windtorn and shredded waves, with a chance of things cleaning up but only a little through the afternoon.
There might just be a pulse of something bigger in the swell just as that wind weakens, so there might be a tiny chance of something of interest then.
Bt it’s Sunday that is exciting us!
The wind is likely to ease its way to north easterly through the early hours of Sunday, maybe allowing us to lazily wake up to some clean and pleasing conditions. There shouldn’t be too much need to hurry, that wind might take a little while to settle more offshore while the early morning high tide might not be too inspiring either.
But by mid-morning we could just be enjoying some clean and pleasant three to four feet of offshore shaped surf under a pleasantly bright and fairly clear sky!
