Constantine (4*):  3 to 4 feet

It’s another fabulous day with a light offshore breeze feathering a long spaced three to four foot swell beneath a shimmering blanket of blue.
The surf is all a bit sharper and snappier than it has been and is a little deceptive, those set waves still punching through with enough size to them.
The beach is still unsupervised so it is worth being aware of your own capabilities so that you can keep within your own limits. Unemployed and former lifeguards are operating a community led, voluntary little system just to keep an eye on things but just bear in mind the lack of PPE and other equipment at present. They are doing a phenomenal thing but it is limited and it’s probably best not to test it too much eh! So, IF IN DOUBT – DON’T GO OUT.
The RNLI are back on Saturday, fully PPE’d up we hear. That’ll be interesting.

Forecast for Friday 29th May 2020

Another warm and pleasant, sunny day is promised with smaller surf but that same south easterly breeze will be blowing steadily offshore. Don’t forget the suncream and don’t forget that I think that lockdown is still a kind of thing? Maybe? Unless of course….. Ah, I think it’s all been said.

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

These light offshore breezes are set to continue drifting across from the south east throughout this weekend while the sun should continue to shine and temperatures remain pleasant. The surf is likely to drop off completely though with only tiny waves expected through Saturday morning becoming fractionally bigger as we go into Sunday.
Lifeguards will resume their roles at Constantine Bay on Saturday at least helping in the prevention of any unnecessary situations arising.
So it looks as though things are slowly starting to find some sort of normality as pleasant days at the beach beckon.
But bear in mind that most businesses are still closed as too are most toilet facilities.  And a level of lockdown is still in place (with the obvious exception of government aides and our elected representatives) meaning that all accommodation remains closed including campsites and holiday rentals.
Stay safe, stay happy and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!

Although we are temporarily CLOSED we can provide a limited, safe service, either by post or by appointment at the shop while adhering to social distancing advice.
