Constantine (0*):  10 feet

Storm force winds are roaring into the bays this morning, a hedge bending westerly blow churning the already wild and mixed up ocean.
Mountainous seas are ploughing their way through the Quies and battering Bullrock to finally erupt on the already storm battered shore.
It is a fabulously alive place to be but you might not want to get too up-close or intimate with any of it while nature is in this lively and playful mood.

Harlyn (0*):  6 to 8 feet

Sand and drizzle and seaspray are all blasting across the bay at Harlyn this morning, the wild surf being tossed and turned and flung on the rocks and sand.
It’s a stormy one but still kind of fun and cosy in a strange way too.
You wouldn’t want to surf here though, not today!

Forecast for Saturday 30th January 2021

Ooh, there looks to be some big surf aiming our way this afternoon along with some light and offshore winds too. Those waves look like they could get real big this afternoon making it a place for the brave and able only.
Even those sheltered spots could be trembling today!

Conditions for the Weekend

As another lockdown week ends in a storm of mad wind and waves, that wind should gradually calm and ease its way to a more south easterly direction, offshore at all of our favourite surf breaks locally! And we can expect a building swell to explode into our bays throughout the weekend too!
So Saturday should see a gradual increase in wave size, starting out in the four to six foot range in the morning, the wave period steadily increasing as a new and very solid swell approaches bringing some double to treble overhead and really powerful waves our way by evening.
Sunday morning will see powerful and grinding waves lining up all along our coast, pleasantly groomed, shaped and manicured by more offshore winds. Eight to ten feet of spilling and tubing waves are expected at all the major surf breaks on this coastline for most of the day.
If you’re fitness levels are peak and your ocean skills have been honed then this is your weekend!
If that’s not the case then you might want to have a little look for those super sheltered spots – if they are within a lockdown restricted travel distance and you are capable of getting yourself out of whatever you get into on your own that is!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
