Constantine (2*):  4 feet

The sky is quickly clearing this morning as a chill nor’ westerly breeze blows in across the wave tops, tumbling and tossing the wintery looking three to four feet of surf.
It’s a proper winter’s day down in the bay without the prettiness of that new year frost but escaping that dreary winter rain too.
Yep, it’s pleasant enough to wander out for a socially distanced mooch about!

Harlyn (0*):  2 to 3 feet

The two to three feet of deep and dark, brooding surf is being pushed and shoved by that chilling nor’ westerly wind at Harlyn this morning, the sun piercing down the valley to throw long shadows across the sand.
A couple of early morning virus avoiders are paddling out to have some fun in the weak looking and sloppy surf while the occasional dog walker shivers their way across the otherwise empty bay.
Thank goodness for (decent) wetsuits, these are the days when they make that much difference!

Forecast for Monday 18th January 2021

The wind is forecast to back to the south west today bringing damper conditions but at least cleaning the little waves that manage to tumble around to Harlyn.
It’s unlikely to be worth putting yourself out for but there might be the odd snappy little close-out or two to test your reactions at Harlyn later on.

Conditions for the Start of the Week

South westerly winds are likely to bring damper but maybe milder conditions throughout this coming week.
With plenty of little storms out in the Atlantic we should enjoy our fair share of bouncy little waves to ride too, Harlyn being the venue of choice in these conditions, this wind should be mainly offshore there for most of the week.
That wind should bring milder temperatures too, maybe throwing just a little hint of Spring at us by midweek, if only briefly.
So with a building four foot sell rolling our way throughout the week, we can look forward to some fun Harlyn isolation sessions!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
