Constantine (3*):  3 to 4 feet

A light offshore breeze is gently drifting from the south east to meet a head high swell down in the bay this morning, the waves a little close together but with smooth faces and glinting in the early morning sunshine.
We have been waiting for this for a while but at last the surf actually looks really good.
And, of course, it’s May Day too!

“Unite and unite and let us all unite
For summer is acome unto day
And whither we are going we will all unite
In the merry morning of May”

Harlyn (1*):  0 to 1 foot

The offshore, south easterly breeze is gentle, the birdsong strong, the surf almost flat and the beach empty at Harlyn this morning.
The surf is all reeling in on the other side of the headland today!

Surf Forecast for Thursday 2nd May 2024

And it’s all back to normal this morning with a cold wind from the north west producing sloppy and choppy three foot surf.
And rain.
Still, there should be a junky wave to get in on if you’re keen.

Surf Conditions for the Rest of the Week

A mixed up but milder week is promised for this week, the surf mainly smaller and sloppier but maybe shining through for a day or so midweek.
A south westerly breeze will start the week, bringing dampness while chopping up the so-so surf at our main surf breaks. But the waves should build to four feet plus by midweek, just in time to enjoy some smoothing by a forecast south easterly breeze.
So four feet and offshore surf is expected at all of the main surf breaks on this coast for May Day, the hypnotic beating drums of the Oss, Wee Oss of Padstow competing for our attention during the festive celebrations of the coming of Summer.
Is it really that greedy to enjoy both?
Either way, that surf isn’t likely to last much more than a day, onshore and cold north westerly winds are likely to return by the next morning!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have the very best week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
