Constantine (2*):  2 to 3 feet

It’s damp around the edges this morning and set to get damper, this never ending winter of wind and rain and cold not yet ready to give in to our cravings for something brighter, drier and warmer.
There’s a south westerly breeze gradually strengthening out there which should raise temperatures a little but at the same time junking out the two or three feet of slow moving and lazy looking surf.
And that sky is darkening!
So you know the drill; let’s wander on over to Harlyn!

Harlyn (1*):  1 foot

The breeze is strengthening at Harlyn, the south, south westerly wind blowing straight offshore. But there’s not much surf out there to bother the early morning swimmers, a foot or two of snappy little stuff folding over on the hardened sand as the tide rises through the halfway mark.
It’s going to be smallish but could still be fun today.

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  15:39  (1.9m)              High Tide:  09:17  (6.2m)

Surf Forecast for Tuesday 30th April 2024

South westerly breezes are likely to continue to frustrate the bigger swells as they get pushed into our bays, Harlyn offering the two to three feet of surf around there some grooming and shaping.
It’s probably going to be the place again locally but it’s only likely to be a couple to three feet.
Still, that should be fun and the sets could be bigger.

Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week

A mixed up but milder week is promised for this week, the surf mainly smaller and sloppier but maybe shining through for a day or so midweek.
A south westerly breeze will start the week, bringing dampness while chopping up the so-so surf at our main surf breaks. But the waves should build to four feet plus by midweek, just in time to enjoy some smoothing by a forecast south easterly breeze.
So four feet and offshore surf is expected at all of the main surf breaks on this coast for May Day, the hypnotic beating drums of the Oss, Wee Oss of Padstow competing for our attention during the festive celebrations of the coming of Summer.
Is it really that greedy to enjoy both?
Either way, that surf isn’t likely to last much more than a day, onshore and cold north westerly winds are likely to return by the next morning!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have the very best week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
