Constantine (1*):  0 to 1 foot

A lighter, fresher, maybe slightly chillier morning is greeting us this morning, a steady west north westerly wind blowing fresher air our way and relieving that mugginess of the last few days.
The surf is junk though with only knee high and onshore blown, weak and wishy washy little waves lamely stumbling ashore.
Things should improve at least a little on this afternoon’s pushing tide and those bright skies always make it that little bit more enjoyable too.
And how warm is the water!
Well, actually it’s 17 and a bit deg C, which is okay for right now and it feels almost comfortable to swim in when the sun is out!

Harlyn (0*):  Flat

Harlyn is flat again today, the west north westerly wind putting a light surface chop on an otherwise smooth and waveless sea.
It could be worth dragging a kayak out for a drift if you’re keen, the SUP might be a bit chop affected.
Someone has a Hobie Cat parked up at the back of the beach – that would be fun today.
Brings back memories of a fun session on a Hobie with Kev (Fast Eddy) on a seriously hard blowing south westerly day in a fast building swell. I think that we ‘tested’ the rigging to the limit and beyond that day!
But it would be more relaxing fun on a day like today!

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  11:32  (1.8m)              High Tide:  17:27  (6.7m)

Surf Forecast for Saturday 8th July 2017

A pleasant enough day of long lasting bright and sunny spells but with a few showers to dodge around should provide a cheery background to some fun surf today.
Light, light breezes are likely to be drifting around, settling fresher and more onshore for a while through the afternoon, before the evening glass off.
The surf is likely to be no more than a foot or hopefully two again but at least it should be glassy and clean and fun with enough fine weather to keep everyone happy!

Surf Conditions for the Weekend

This weekend is shaping up to be a bit of an enjoyable one with some decent weather along with only small but fun surf!
Friday’s light onshore winds will be replaced by a stillness and calmness on Saturday, only the lightest of sea breezes being triggered through the afternoon.
If we can avoid the odd wandering thunderstorm and stay cool enough not to trigger more fog then we should be enjoying another fabulous summer’s day of sun and small surf.
We can expect to be met by a couple of feet or so of smooth and glassy waves to ride on under a bright and summery sky!
And that should continue through Sunday too, maybe losing a lot of that sunshine as the land ends up getting too warm for itself and the sea dampening things down by throwing some hazy cloud our way. And that light, or might not, develop into some wet and thundery moments!
So, dig out the longboards, pull on your summer suits and enjoy what should be a fun summer’s weekend!
