Well the snow has almost disappeared and that heavy downpour of last night seems to have emptied itself and so we are left with quite a pleasant calm and still, tranquil morning down in the bay this morning.
The surf has built a little with three to four foot sets peeling across the usual breaks, although the tide is too high to allow it to break as it should. Give it an hour or two and we should have some fun surf to p[lay in.
But don’t leave it too long, the wind is going to settle to the south west while freshening a little!

These big tides are offering a different view of the bays lately.
There’s a tiny little left-hander that is zipping off the sand into the stream beneath the bridge this morning, something that we have played in in the past but only when it has been really big surf.
And today, unfortunately it’s not really big.
A foot of glassy and pretty, shapely little surf is curling onto the sand.
the forecasts are showing a building swell and the wind is due to switch to south westerly, so this afternoon’s tide should show something better!

Light offshores should kick back in for most of today, those south easterly breezes meeting a solid little three feet of evenly spaced swell.
We could just have some fun surf toady!
Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week
After staring out gently with light offshore breezes helping the surf to look and break its best, the wind is going to shift to the south west for most of the rest of the week.
And so with the swells building into the four to five foot range by midweek, Harlyn is looking like the goto break locally.
And pretty good Harlyn it should be too!
Three to four feet of offshore shaped quite crunchy surf should tempt us all in, the weather feeling quite mild after last week’s mini-freeze.
Yep, a pleasant week of fairly typical Harlyn surf awaits, with smaller but cleaner conditions expected for next weekend.
