at 6.45 a.m.:
Another calm and tranquil, hazily bright morning is quietly unfolding about us this morning, the surf only small but pretty and very glideable.
There’s a foot to occasionally two feet of glassy surf shimmering through the haze this morning, the sound of those waves muffled in that thick early morning haze, the air absolutely still.
The tide is halfway out and so the wave quality should improve as the tide continues to drop and then again on the turn. By this afternoon I would think that we could be gliding across those only knee to hip high but beautifully smooth wave faces at our favourite local surf breaks.

The Approaching Lines International Festival of Surf kicks off at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay tonight with a wealth of films on show. There are two sessions a night with a few UK premiers, guests and an after party on Saturday, all followed by the Reef Single Fin Classic on Sunday at Fistral. And the surf looks like it could be ideal for that!
And we are stoked to announce the arrival of Patagonia clothing and stuff into our little store!
Patagonia’s mission statement is: ‘Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis’.
And that sounds like just the type of business that should sit nicely within our little surf store, eh!

No, it is pretty much flat around here this morning, a six inch and bumbly looking wash of ripples being all that is on offer.
A good place to drag the paddle board out for a cruise though?

Surf Forecast for Friday 20th March 2015
It looks like the surf should have rebuilt by this morning, the wind still light and still offshore in the morning.
We should be enjoying a very pleasant three to four feet of nicely groomed surf as that partial eclipse unfolds about us.
Make the most of it in the morning though, the wind might slip more northerly by lunch time, maybe swinging onshore through the afternoon.
It will be interesting to see whether the skies stay clear in the morning for that eclipse?
I think that it might be hazy one again!
Surf Conditions for the Rest of the Week
It has been as perfect a start to the surfing week in Cornwall as you could ever wish for!
That steady groundswell has been rhythmically spinning long swell lines our way, a mid teens wave-period pulse of smooth and solid swell, groomed to precise perfection by a steady but light offshore breeze.
The swell has been pretty solid and should only very gradually and slowly ease down in size as we go into Thursday before building again through the end of the week.
And yes, it is forecast to remain bright and sunny for most of the time into Friday too, although it might take time for that sunshine to burn through the haze each day!
As well as all that, it is that time of year in these parts where all hands are on deck preparing for the start of another season, so a lot of people are very busy, getting ready to be busy! So, either it is going to be quiet at our favoured surf breaks or not that much work is going to get done!
With just a little timing there should be plenty of solo sessions available to everyone!
