A bright and pleasant day is greeting us this Good Friday morning, the sky clear and the breeze light, a little birdsong in the air everything in its place as it should be.
Except for the surf.
It’s not great!
Three feet of mixed up and messy stuff is washing about in the bay with no focus or intent, a drunken slop of quite weak looking surf.
The good news is that the breeze should lighten even more through the morning, allowing those sloppy waves to sort themselves out and clean up a bit.
And then that breeze will back to the south west, helping the swell to get in just as this afternoon’s tide starts to rise. Unfortunately that wind is going to strengthen and eventually blow hard but hopefully not until tonight.
In the meantime we could just luck into some very enjoyable surf, even if it means nipping around to Harlyn this evening, where it should be getting fun just before dark!

We are just planning a bit of an EASTER special SALE to run through the holiday weekend.

There’s only a foot or two of wishy washy and weak looking surf washing the hight side shoreline here this morning.
That beautiful sunlight is making it look more attractive than it probably is but there are little waves to ride if you must.
But give it till this afternoon when the south westerlies start to blow in and then we will see a difference. The wind will be offshore and the swell is likely to smooth out and strengthen with this afternoon’s incoming tide.
It could just be fun here ahead of this evening’s high tide!

Surf Forecast for Easter Saturday 26th March 2016

Hard blowing south westerly winds are going to be pushing a solid six to eight foot swell our way, all raggedy and windblown but still a thick and heavy swell.
Locally, Harlyn is the place to go in these conditions and Harlyn is likely to shine today!
Four to five feet of wind hollowed and bone crunching surf is expected at Harlyn today, getting a little gnarly towards low tide at lunchtime, a little more forgiving at high tide in the morning and evening.
The weather is likely to be a bit blustery although probably a lot brighter and drier than has been forecast but the surf is probably going to be ‘challenging’ at Harlyn!

Surf Conditions for Easter Weekend

All eyes have been on the Atlantic weather charts in anticipation of the Easter holiday this coming weekend.
And it is looking interesting from a surfing point of view!
It is looking very much like a Harlyn weekend with a brisk sou’ wester blustering in and pushing along a building four to five to six foot swell ahead of it, getting bigger by Easter Sunday.
We should be enjoying some pleasant and bright enough weather and fairly clean surf on Good Friday before more blustery and maybe a bit showery conditions hit us for the weekend.
Big spreads of sunshine are expected as well as those cloudy bits too, as growing swells start to boom into Harlyn through Saturday and into Easter Sunday and Monday.
Yep, it’s looking mainly okay for everyone this holiday weekend!
Have a great week and weekend, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
