A lightly overcast sky is gradually giving way to something better already this morning, the low cloud gradually burning off to promise a pleasantly bright and sunny day ahead of us.
Tiny waves are occasionally washing down the Point, teasing and testing, almost surfable if these were more normal times but really not enough to kook out on an isolation breaker routine. But when you’re standing and watching, there is still that pull!
I wonder when we might grow out of that?

Surf Forecast for Tuesday 21st April 2020

Here’s a test for your moral fortitude!
We can expect a solid four foot swell to be peeling its way into a steady offshore breeze all day long today. Add some bright and cheery sunshine to that image and you might be straining hard at those social isolation restrictions.

Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week

So we have been fairly fortunate with the weather while this weird and awful pandemic situation has unfolded over the last few weeks, it might have been even tougher to self isolate in the wind and rain that we had enjoyed for months through Winter.
But this week is going to be a real tester for anyone with a surfboard in Cornwall.
It does look as though we might be in for a frustratingly pleasant week of tempting surf with a smooth and solid swell rolling in against more steady offshore breezes.
Add some very pleasant, summer temperatures as well as loads of summer sunshine and you might just be feeling the strain to break out and go ride a few.
That is ultimately your decision but all I can add to the already overloaded and controversial mix of feelings is that I can’t see how it will help the situation.
If you can walk to the beach without mixing with anyone and can enjoy a solo session while taking responsibility for your own safety then there’s nothing in the world to stop you, your own moral compass aside.
Anything else must surely be a no-no?
Anyway, we are in for a fab week of weather and the surf is going to be very, very tempting!
Stay safe, stay happy, stay home, wash your hands and have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
