Constantine (2*):  4 to 6 feet

Well, the rain has stopped for a while but the threatening grey sky and the blustering winds remain.
And so the lumping, thick four to six foot swell is heaving its way into the bay as the tide starts to ease its way out, the southerly wind not quite managing to be offshore, not quite managing to clean things up as we’d like.
If the wind does manage to twitch just a few more degrees to the east those hollowing wedges could just get really good. Benny Bennett is on his way in right now to take a few of on his own, and, with only a little luck he could just score some good, hollow ones before work!
You’re going to have to be on it to get the best out of it today though!

Harlyn (3*):  3 feet with very occasional bigger sets

The wind is gusting straight offshore this morning at Harlyn this morning, the tide just easing its way off that big early morning high. And three feet of decent waves are taking their time to wander onto those high tide banks, some bigger sets snaking through just when you’re not expecting them.
There’s one out enjoying a few and it should only improve as the tide starts to drop.

Today’s Tide Times:

Low Tide:  12:24  (0.2m)              High Tide:  18:15  (7.5m)

Surf Forecast for Tuesday 9th April 2024

Hard blowing nor’ westerly winds are going to blow away any chance of a decent surf today. And those winds will make it feel cold as well, dropping temperatures back to single figures. But we should see some sunshine, preferably from behind a window! As for surf? Well, we’ll have to head to the far coast for any chance of a clean wave to ride today!

Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week

It looks as though we’re in for another mainly damp and breezy week again this week, with mainly south westerly winds stirring the surfeit our Amin breaks after starting out southerly and with a day or so of cold north westerlies.
So Monday’s waves could end up being the highlight of our week with a moment of offshores cleaning the head-high surf on Monday afternoon. But those north westerlies will be blowing all day on Tuesday, junking out the six to eight feet swells of Tuesday.
There won’t be much surf of interest anywhere on this coast today making the drive to the other coast a tempting option.
South westerlies will then settle in for some time bringing milder temperatures, lots of dampness and thick, rolling swells. And so Harlyn will be our surf spot of choice for the rest of the week, the steady winds blowing offshore there to help shape the mainly four to six foot swell.
Spring must be coming soon, surely?
Stay safe, stay happy, stay well and have the very best week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
