Constantine (1*): 4 feet
A wide blue sky is welcoming us to a warm and sunny start to today, the air filled with birdsong, a steady westerly wind carrying the sound of surf across the fields.
Down in the bay there’s a thick and lumpy, lightly windslopped swell bouncing its way in, four to maybe just about five feet in height and not much different in thickness.
It is all a bit sloppy and junky but there is swell and (just about) rideable waves if you’re keen.
Harlyn (2*): 2 to 3 feet
The early morning breeze is a little too westerly just yet and the hight tide is just starting to drop back causing that warpy effect and creating a rippy look to the two to three feet of already crumbly surf.
So it’s not at its optimum just now that’s for sure but give it some time for the lower tide to sharpen things up while the wind settles just a few degrees more to the south and then it should be a while lot more attractive.
This afternoon could just bring some sun-in-the-fun!

Southerly going south westerly breezes are going to be carrying some dampness with them as they drift up along the coast today.
If we’re lucky though we might just be enjoying some clean three to four foot surf at the main breaks first thing, although that breeze will soon enough be drifting more onshore. And it is only a ‘maybe’ as to whether it will be big enough for Harlyn.
Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week
A breezy week lies ahead with those light sou’ westerlies of Monday becoming gusting southerlies by Tuesday, blowing fresher and from the west through Wednesday before calming through the end of the week.
Those onshore should continue to support the four feet or so of lumpy swell that will be rolling our way all week, that swell peaking in size on Monday and again on Wednesday.
And so Harlyn is likely to be the surf destination of choice locally this week with fun surf suitable for just about everybody!
And how much is that water warming up! It’s summer suit time for sure and we have a shop full of them!
