It’s a little bit chilly out there on an otherwise fine and pleasant morning.
The wind is rattling in from the north west bringing in that cold air while making the couple of feet of lazy surf look even lazier. It’s a bit of a sloppy mess this morning, two feet of onshore junk surf to test your paddling skills or to launch some airs off if you’re that way inclined.
But it should be a pleasant and fun day of messing around surfing in some bright and breezy sunshine.
And it’s Carnival at St. Merryn this evening!!

A steady north westerly wind is messing up the foot or so of sloppy surf around here this morning but otherwise it’s a bright and cheery morning if you can get out of the wind.

Surf Forecast for Sunday 16th August 2015
Light winds are going to help the surf to look prettier as the wave-period draws out on a small but fairly smooth swell.
There should be some small very attractive surf in the morning, maybe deteriorating at low tide as the sea breeze effect kicks in, a light onshore making for messier conditions. And then there could be that evening glass off as the sea breeze effect dies as the temperatures change.
All in all we should be able to enjoy a good day of small surf!
Surf Conditions for the Weekend
The weekend looks bright and cheerful with a growing swell and the wind becoming lighter as the sun strengthens and the breeze eventually switches offshore.
It will probably be Sunday before that happens though.
Saturday is looking to be sunny enough but with onshore winds bumping the small but very playful surf.
The swell is likely to be more small and close-fetch stuff as we go into the weekend but filling out and strengthening as we go along.
By Sunday and into Monday we should be enjoying some small but clean and smart little waves.
And that should carry us well into what is looking like a sunny and pleasant summer’s week of fun surf!
