A grey canopy of dreary sky is lying low above us this morning, a dull and hazy morning for sure but cosy and comfy too.
The wind is fairly steady and from the north east, a chilly caress that is helping to form and shape that storming surf.
Yep, the swell is pretty big, a good four to five to six feet plus, a pulsing, rhythmic swell of grey and tubing waves. The Slab is rocking with big and spitting, reeling waves, while the back of the Reef is pretty impressive too.
Theres’ a good day of surf waiting for us and, if it’s anything like yesterday it shouldn’t be too busy out there either. That’s the thing when the surf is good like this, there are a load of breaks dotted all the way up and down this lovely, craggy coastline that will have great surf conditions today!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mums everywhere!

If you are around this way on the weekend, it might be worth dropping in on us at the shop.
We are having lots of new stock delivered and so we are having a bit of a clearance sale! All those winter wetsuits that we didn’t manage to sell this winter need to be cleared! They include Xcel and O’Neill winter and summer suits at up to £50 or more OFF, many of the summer suits at HALF PRICE and we still have loads of sizes at the moment, although some of those in-between sizes are getting fewer.
Be quick though, word seems to be out already!

By way of an unexpected bonus for those of you who might remember the original ’SJ’s Surf Forecast’,  SJ has very kindly forwarded a little one-off forecast for this weekend and next week. We have parked it over in the ‘views’ section of our website ( https://www.constantinesurf.com/blog/sjs-surf-forecast-for-the-south-west ), although I’ll probably combine it in with our own forecast below later on.
If there’s enough desire we could maybe even nag him to get back into it?

And we are stoked to announce the arrival of Patagonia clothing and stuff into our little store!
Patagonia’s mission statement is: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.
And that sounds like just the type of business that should sit nicely within our little surf store, eh!

Apart from the swell rolling straight past the bay, this north easterly wind is pretty much straight onshore again here today.
So, it’s not great, there’s a couple or maybe occasionally three feet of bumpy and lumpy, grey surf rolling around with the odd righthander trying to raise some interest off the Rock but, with the other side being so good again today, well, that’s the place to ago today.
Just take your pick of any of the breaks over the other side of the headland, they are all reeling and spinning with good surf this morning!

Surf Forecast for Monday 16th March 2015

Slightly smaller surf with slight lighter and slightly more direct offshore winds, all under much brighter skies.
It is looking good today!
Four to five feet of proper, evenly spaced and smooth groundswell is likely to be spilling itself ashore, all hollow and tubing and pleasantly shaped by that light but steady easterly wind.
It really doesn’t get as good as it might just be that often!

Surf Conditions for the Start of the Week

It is looking as perfect a start to a surfing week in Cornwall as you could ever wish for!
That steady groundswell is rhythmically spinning long swell lines our way, a mid teens pulse of smooth and solid swell, groomed to precise perfection by a steady but light offshore breeze. The swell is pretty solid and should only very gradually and slowly ease down in size as we go through the whole week.
And yes, it is forecast to be bright and sunny for most of the time too!
Ads well as all that, it is that time of year in these parts where all hands are on deck preparing for the start of another season, so a lot of people are very busy, getting ready to be busy! So, either it is going to be quiet at our favoured surf breaks or not that much work is going to get done!
With just a little timing there should be plenty of solo sessions available to everyone!
Have a great week, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing!
